Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps that Storage Gants Hill has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chains. Storage Gants Hill is committed to conducting all of its activities with integrity, responsibility, and respect for human rights.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Gants Hill adopts a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We do not tolerate such practices in any part of our own operations or in the operations of any organisation that supplies goods or services to us.
All directors, employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to uphold this commitment and to act in a manner consistent with our values and legal obligations. Any breach or suspected breach of this policy will be taken seriously and may lead to the termination of business relationships or other appropriate action.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Gants Hill provides storage and related services. Our supply chains include providers of storage equipment, building and maintenance services, cleaning services, security services, utilities, professional services, and a range of goods and services that support our operations.
We recognise that certain parts of our supply chain may present a higher risk of modern slavery, particularly where goods or services are sourced from sectors or regions with lower levels of regulatory oversight or where labour standards are less rigorously enforced. We therefore pay particular attention to these areas in our due diligence and monitoring activities.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We expect all suppliers and business partners to comply with applicable laws relating to labour, employment, and human rights, and to operate in a manner consistent with our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery.
As part of our supplier onboarding and review processes, we seek to:
Assess new key suppliers for modern slavery and human rights risks, including reviewing their policies and practices where appropriate.
Communicate our expectations regarding ethical conduct, labour standards, and the prevention of modern slavery.
Give preference, where feasible, to suppliers that can demonstrate robust human rights and labour practices.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
Storage Gants Hill is committed to conducting proportionate and risk-based audits of key suppliers. These audits may include:
Requesting documentation on labour policies, worker conditions, and recruitment practices.
Reviewing information relating to subcontracting arrangements and the use of temporary or agency labour.
Undertaking site visits or remote assessments where appropriate and feasible.
If an audit or review identifies concerns, we will work with the supplier to agree on corrective actions within a reasonable timeframe. Where a supplier is unwilling or unable to address serious issues, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Gants Hill encourages employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to speak up about any concerns relating to modern slavery or human trafficking. Concerns may include suspected exploitation, unsafe or inhumane working conditions, unfair recruitment practices, or any other behaviour inconsistent with this statement.
We provide internal reporting channels through which concerns can be raised confidentially to management. Individuals raising concerns in good faith will not face retaliation or disadvantage for doing so. Reports will be investigated promptly, and appropriate steps will be taken to address any issues identified.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks and our zero-tolerance policy among relevant employees. This may include induction briefings, periodic reminders, and access to guidance on identifying warning signs of exploitation in our operations and supply chains.
Managers with responsibility for procurement, facilities, and supplier relationships are expected to understand and apply our standards when selecting and working with suppliers.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Storage Gants Hill recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to reviewing and improving our approach over time, taking into account changes in our business, legal developments, and best practice.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least annually by senior management. The review will consider the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence, audits, and reporting mechanisms, and will identify any areas where further action or enhancement is required.
By publishing this statement, Storage Gants Hill reaffirms its commitment to acting ethically, promoting responsible business practices, and working to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our operations and supply chains.
